What channel is NY Guardians vs. DC Defenders on today? Time, TV schedule for XFL Week 2 game

first_imgThe large viewership certainly isn’t a bad thing, but it doesn’t necessarily equate to future success either. Last year, the AAF reached similar numbers in their inaugural weekend before the league ceased operations with two weeks left in the regular season. The television ratings for Week 2 and the rest of the season will be just as important.MORE XFL: Rules | Schedule | Uniforms | RostersWhat does the league have in store for Week 2?  Two games will each feature a pair of undefeated teams, including a matchup between former Big Ten quarterbacks. The New York Guardians (1-0) travel to the nation’s capital to take on the D.C. Defenders on Saturday. Quarterback Matt McGloin led the Guardians to a decisive 23-3 victory over the Tampa Bay Vipers in Week 1. The Penn State product added a rushing touchdown to a solid day through the air, going 15-of-29 for 182 yards and a touchdown. The other side of the ball might provide more intrigue. Defenders quarterback Cardale Jones is undefeated as a starter in college or the pros. Jones famously took over as the starting quarterback for Ohio State in the 2014 Big Ten championship game and led the Buckeyes to a 59-0 win over Wisconsin. He went on to take down Alabama and Oregon in the College Football Playoff on his way to a national championship. Jones won the first seven games of the 2015 season before being benched for J.T. Barrett. He moved to 12-0 in his career with a 31-19 victory over the Seattle Dragons in the XFL’s opening weekend, completing 16 of 26 passes for 235 yards and two touchdowns. The jury is still out on the defense he will be competing against on Sunday. The Guardians were all over the field defensively in Week 1 with two interceptions and three forced fumbles. The three points they allowed were the fewest given up in the league. The 394 yards they allowed were the most allowed in the league. Here’s a guide to everything to know about watching the New York Guardians vs. D.C. Defenders game, including start time, TV channel and a full XFL schedule for Week 2.MORE: XFL Week 2 odds, picks, predictions The XFL relaunched last weekend to an audience of millions. Viewers got their first look at a league with new rules (do teams go for one, two or three on PAT’s?) and unprecedented access to players and coaches that’s already causing teams to adjust. We may have even seen too much. The four games averaged an impressive 3.12 million viewers on the opening weekend, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Three of the four opening weekend games outdrew every NBA and college basketball telecast from the previous week, too.
