Old Wellington scoreboards to be auctioned off on Friday

first_imgby Tracy McCue, Sumner Newscow — Do you want a piece of history? How about an old Wellington scoreboard that tallied the scores of every high school and middle school basketball game for more than 50 years? The two old scoreboards from the old high school via today’s middle school were replaced recently and the After School Program will be auctioning the historical scoreboards to the highest bidders as a fundraiser. The two scoreboards will be auctioned off separately. The first scoreboard will be auctioned off this Friday during Wellington Homecoming festivities in the game with Mulvane. The second scoreboard will be auctioned off at the home Clearwater basketball game on Feb. 15. The auction will be held between the boys and girls basketball games around 7:30 p.m.The dimensions for the scoreboard are 72 inches by 78 inches and weighs about 125 pounds. Each is being sold “as-is.” The scoreboard may or may not run so take that into account. There are no keypads or control panels with the scoreboards. Close Forgot password?
