Source = e-Travel Blackboard: N.A The U.S Coast Guard has called off the search for a missing 63 year old woman who allegedly jumped overboard from the Celebrity Millennium cruise ship somewhere between Cabo San Lucas and San Diego. In a statement made by Celebrity Cruises, security staff became aware that the female passenger was missing when she did not disembark the ship as scheduled. After multiple public announcements and a complete search of the ship, the Captain alerted the local authorities. CCTV footage onboard shows the guest climb over the ship’s railing and let go at 9:12pm on Monday 2 May. The F.B.I and U.S Coast Guard were alerted of the GPS location of where the passenger went overboard and commenced a search of the area. Website cruisecompare.co.uk has reported the suspension of the 1,900 square mile search “pending any new developments”. Celebrity Cruises have stated that their ‘Our Care Team’ is currently providing support to the guest’s family and sends their thoughts and prayers over this time. Sailing a 15–night Panama Canal itinerary from San Juan, Puerto Rico on 18 April, the cruise concluded in San Diego on 3 May.
