Xiaomi is set to launch the Redmi 6 series phones in India today. The series consists of three phones, including the Redmi 6, the Redmi 6A and the Redmi 6 Pro. All the three phones have already been launched in China previously, so we more or less know the specs of the handsets. However, going by the teasers looks like the Indian models of the phones will be slightly different from the China variants. In India, all the three Redmi 6, Redmi 6A and Redmi 6 Pro will come with Qualcomm Snapdragon processor. The Redmi 6 and the Redmi 6A in China packs a MediaTek processor, while the Redmi 6 Pro is powered by Snapdragon processor. Today’s launch event will be livestreamed at 12:30 on the company’s official website.There’s no official word about the price of the phones. But, we expect the Redmi 6A to be the cheapest of the lot and cost under Rs 7,000, followed the Redmi 6, which is expected to be priced below Rs 10,000. And lastly, the Redmi 6 Pro will be the most expensive of the lot and will cost somewhere around Rs 12,000. Take the prices with a pinch of salt because Xiaomi is yet to reveal the official prices of the phones.Ahead of the launch, Xiaomi has confirmed that two of the three phones will be sold exclusively on Amazon. On the front, the phone carries a 5-megapixel sensor. Under the hood, the Redmi 6 is powered by a 12nm-based MediaTek Helio P22 processor clocked at 2GHz. In China, the Redmi 6 was launched in two variants — one with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage and the second one with 4GB RAM and 64GB of internal storage. On the software front, the smartphone runs the latest MIUI 10-based on Android Oreo. Redmi 6 comes with support for Xiao Ai assistant. The Redmi 6 comes with other features like — Face unlock support, smart object recognition, among others.Redmi 6AThe Redmi 6A — which is the successor to the Redmi 5A — sports a 5.45-inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio. The smartphone also packs a12-megapixel camera on the rear panel, while on the front the phone includes a 5-megapixel selfie snapper. The smartphone runs the latest MIUI 10-based on Android Oreo. Under the hood, the Redmi 6A comes with a 12nm-based MediaTek Helio A22 processor and has a 3000mAh battery. In China, the Redmi 6A was launched in only one variant with 2GB RAM and 16GB of internal storage.Redmi 6 ProThis is the phone with iPhone X like notch. The phone is all-metal and comes with rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The smartphone comes with dual cameras on the rear panel consisting of a primary sensor of 12-megapixel and secondary sensor of 5-megapixel. On the front, the Redmi 6 Pro carries a 5-megapixel sensor for selfies. The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 processor with up to 4GB RAM and up to 64GB storage. It comes with a 4,000mAh battery and runs Android Oreo-based MIUI 9 software.
