After stints in Lake Placid, New York, and County Kerry, Ireland, he landed his first reporting gig at the Teton Valley News in Driggs, Idaho. In 2008, the Idaho Press Club awarded him first place for “Best Light Feature” for his story “Chasing the American Dream of Breakfast.”From there, Woodward crisscrossed America for several years as a music journalist, covering backyard get-togethers and renowned festivals like Burning Man, Rothbury, Grand Targhee, Outside Lands and Wakarusa. Since 2012, he has been the arts/entertainment editor for The Smoky Mountain News, and was recently named the music editor for Smoky Mountain Living magazine, both based in Waynesville, North Carolina.In 2015, he won first place in the North Carolina Press Association awards for “Arts & Entertainment Reporting” for his cover story 
“Bless Your Heart — The State of Women in 
Bluegrass.” In 2016, Woodward was nominated for “Bluegrass Print/Media Person of the Year” by the International Bluegrass Music Association (IBMA). Space heater may have caused fire that killed mom, 4 kids

first_imgDES PLAINES, Ill. (AP) — Fire officials say a space heater may have caused a blaze in suburban Chicago that killed four young girls and their mom. The Des Plaines Fire Department says the space heater was at the top of stairs tat were the only way in and out of the second-floor unit. That’s where all of the family members were found. The space heater’s placement may have blocked the family’s only path out of the burning building. No smoke detectors were on the second floor. Foul play is not suspected. The fire killed a 25-year-old woman and her four daughters, ages 1 to 6. The Des Plaines Fire Department is continuing its investigation.last_img read more

Bobby Brown denies he wants to remove his daughter from life…

first_imgBobby Kristina and her father Bobby Brown Bobby Brown has denied rumours that he’s going to take Bobbi Kristina Brown off life support, this is according to Mail online.The 46-year-old musician has been rumoured to be removing his 22-year-old daughter – who he fathered with his late ex-wife Whitney Houston – from the machine.Several websites claimed that Bobby Christina’s father planned to remove his daughter from life support.The reports came nearly four months after she was found unresponsive in a bathtub on Jan. 31. The family received hundreds of supportive messages on social media.On January 31st Bobby Kristina she was found unresponsive in a bathtub in her home in Georgia.However, Bobby will ‘never’ take her off life support, and feels like ‘people are just waiting for his daughter to die’.A source close to the Brown family said: ‘It’s background noise. Bobby hears these reports, and it’s annoying to him. He hates that people are just waiting for his daughter to die.’Bobbi Kristina’s condition has remained unchanged since she was transported to a rehab facility in March, and, while Bobbi’s grandmother Cissy Houston has publicly said that there is little hope of recovery, the Brown family says they’re unwilling to give up on her.Speaking to People, the source added: ‘Let me tell you this now.
